No major drama on the final day of the F9/B9 competition with fairly modest scoring on Friday so didn't see much movement in the leagues (a bit of handicap protection perhaps?).
Final Results - Stableford
- Jim "Unquestionably the Biggest Bandit in Oxfordshire" Hetherington - 48 points. Jim's victory was sealed last week when he had his first ever Drayton round under 100 shots. Jim wins £15, a sleeve of balls and his beautifully printed TOFS certificate.
- Arthur "walking wounded" Strain - 45 points. Arthur hobbled off the course after 11 holes yesterday with a very sore knee and was unable to improve his position but did incredibly well in this competition. Arthur wins £10 for his trouble
- Frank "matchplay specialist" Parnell - 43 points. Frank wins £5. He actually had the same score as Paul and Brian in 4th/5th place but wins the prize based on the better back 9 score and the best "second best" score
- Paul Wynn - also 43 points
- Brian Monnery - also 43 points
Final Results - Gross Scores
- Graham "Untouchable while Steve Bury isn't playing" Plested - 82 shots. So confident was Graham that he wouldn't be caught that he didn't even bother to show up for the last round on Friday!! Graham wins £15 and a sleeve of balls and yet another winners certificate (where are you putting them all Graham?) to be presented at the next Away Day
- Arthur "still hobbling through the pain" Strain - 84 shots. A great result to be so high in both competitions but as you know you can't win two prizes in the same comp, so after a coin toss Arthur gets his prize in the Stableford and the gross prizes roll down.
- Rob "trying to come up with amusing nicknames for everyone else" Lindley - 85 shots. No improvement on Friday but Rob wins £10
- Dave "come on mate, it will be dark soon" Bolus - 86 shots. As per the Stableford competition there was a tie for third. Couldn't separate it through second best score but Dave takes the £5 prize by virtue of the best score on the Back 9.
- Lee "captain in waiting" Wooldridge also 86
- Brian "ouch, me foot" Wray also 86
- Andrew "saving myself for NTP at the next Away Day" Shepheard also 86
