Super 6 - May 2024

Following a dramatic final day with some incredible low scores by our “best” golfers the final results are in.

Gross to Par Competition

In the Gross to Par Competition there was a ding dong battle between Steve Bury, Graham Plested (who went into the final day in the lead) and Brian Wray.

Steve Bury
In the end the Top Prize went to Steve Bury who had a round of 79 (joint best for the year for anyone in TOFS). His sequence of six was holes 17, 18 and 1, 2, 3, 4 and went birdie, par, par, par, par, bogey giving him an incredible level par over six holes.
  • Steve wins £15 and a sleeve of balls
  • Brian Wray came in second with 2 over par winning £10
  • Graham came in third also with 2 over par (but Brian’s second best score was better) winning £5
Prizes will be awarded at the Broome Manor Away Day (for those attending).

The rest of the top 10 was myself, Dave Bolus, Lee Wooldridge, Steve Gray, Brian Monnery, Tim Church and Chris Smyth.

Stableford Competition

There was less drama in the Stableford competition with no one making any significant moves on the final day. In the group with the top four in the competition going into Tuesday there were some good holes and Tim starting off with three fours looked to have a great shout but in the end no one was able to put together a run of more than four consecutive good holes and the Top Three all stayed in the same
Rob Lindley

spots.

  • In third place was Jim Hetherington also again with 18 points but a second best score of 14. Jim wins a fiver
The rest of the Top 10 were Malcolm Peck, Brian Monnery, Dave Bolus, Simon Jones, Steve Bury, Paul Wynn and Brian Wray
