A Grand Day Out - Studley Wood 22nd May 2018

What a grand day out that was, 13 of us enjoyed the delights of Studley Wood golf course.

The weather was fine and sunny, the bacon rolls the best to date, the course excellent with the view down the 18th from the tee having to be seen to be believed!  Finally the Gammon, egg, chips and peas was also one of the better meals, especially as we enjoyed it outside.

The golf however was very mixed, both across both those who came and individuals having great holes and terrible holes, much the same as normal I suppose!

This time all four groups managed to keep together and again no one got lost, however there is a clue in the course name, which meant there were a lot of trees for us all to negotiate.  Some managed this better than others, having some very kind ricochets from large trees back onto fairways or light rough.  Whilst others went deeper into woods or had difficult shots from under trees.  Still it made it interesting having to steer a ball through an avenue of trees or between a couple to get to the greens.  These were quite fast and difficult to read, so most of us had problems on them, except for Mr Leak!

As to nearest the pin, Terry excelled himself hitting the green on the 8th and ending up under a meter from the pin, I think we all gave up after that.

The results of the various competitions are as follows, with the full scores available elsewhere on the site, should you be interested.
