Carswell Golf Club - 24th April 2018

Well for the second outing of the year 13 brave souls went forth at Carswell.  Unfortunately around lunchtime the rain arrived and continued on and off for the rest of the day, so not as good as it could have been.

This was again a late tee off time of 11:30, due to the seniors going out before us.  As it turned out they had all departed by 11:00 so we were able to start a bit earlier, having enjoyed our bacon baps in the club house.

With no one to hold us up two of the three groups pressed on and soon the other two groups were out of sight.  We did try to slow down by hitting balls into long grass, bushes or trees, but still ended up back in the club house, awaiting the meal, about one hour before the other two groups arrived.  To be fair one of them was a four ball!

The course was in good condition although there were a lot of daisy's around, even on the fairways.  We made the mistake of using white balls and trying to locate them at times was difficult to say the least!  Perhaps that is what delayed the last two groups.

Once we were all back we enjoyed a meal of steak & ale pie, peas and carrots, except for Terry who chatted the cook up before going out and got a chicken pie!  You can never please all the people!

The results of the various competitions are as follows, with the full scores available elsewhere on the site, should you be interested.
