Badgemore Park Golf Club - 20th March 2018

What a good day that was!  The snow cleared and the sun shone (mostly) and 14 brave souls took up their clubs and went forth for another TOFs away day.

Having enjoyed our bacon roll and coffee we queued up on the first tee to await our tee time.  This sent a few of the Badgemore Park ladies into a mild panic as some of them had started on the 10th and were coming through to play the first nine. They were concerned that we would slot in between the groups, however we assured them we would wait until all had passed through.

Once we got started we found it a bit slow going behind the ladies but it allowed us to enjoy our surroundings and also find our way around the first nine.  Once they all left after the ninth we were able to press on, however with no one to guide us and no course map we had find our own way.  One group did get lost and apparently ended up playing a hole in the wrong direction, which resulted in two groups going to the same green at one point!!

Following the golf we all enjoyed a very good ham, eggs and chips at about 5 pm along with the prize giving.  The results of the various competitions are as follows, with the full scores available elsewhere on the site, should you be interested.

Nearest the Pin

We only had three of these, most of the rest of us missed the green completely despite having four chances!

1. David Leak with 3.88m
2. Brian Monnery with 4.48m
3. David Launchbury with 11.01m

So with David Leak winning two of the three prizes it was decided that Brian Monnery, as runner up in two of the three, would join the other two winners along with the captain to use the four ball voucher to play there again.

All in all a very succesful first outing for 2018.
