The Tipple on the Tee |
Despite the recent wind and rain we’ve been having, this months Away Day at Oxford was bright and sunny with only a slight breeze. Only 13 joined in the day which was one of the lowest turnouts we’ve had. Nevertheless, it an enjoyable day was had by all. The food at Oxford is very good so we knew, however we played, we would come back to a very nice serving of chicken, ham and leek pie with peas and chips.
No bandit scores today, with Brian Monnery winning with a credible 41 points, followed by Jim
Hetherington on 39 and Dave Bolus on 38.
Frank is becoming a bit of a par 3 expert, winning nearest the pin. He laid his marker down early as
he was in the 1st group, but nobody could improve on his shot. Steve Bury had the least number of putts with 30.
The ‘Most Use of the Course’ was tied between the two Steve’s, but on countback it was Steve Gray
who claimed the bottle of wine.
The next Away Day is at Kirtlington on the 15 th August, so, hopefully we’ll be able to have a full
turnout
Congratulations to all the winners
Steve
