As
requested by our esteemed group, the weather was pre-booked although
the big man upstairs clearly didn’t read my memo correctly, I
requested sun with an intermittent gale force wind from the east
(thereby helping my slice off the tee!) – 24 points later, that
worked!
Once
the coffee, tea, ‘huge’ bacon baps and briefing had finished,
there was just enough time for the more committed golfers to hit the
driving range and putting green. Some of us even bought a range
token from the pro-shop, walked up to the driving range only to find
that the ball dispenser was situated on the clubhouse wall next to
the pro shop (note to self; must listen to those in the know!)
Cue
photo opportunity near the first tee as the groups Hole in One Guru
(Dave Bolus) kindly dished out some very good whisky/bourbon to
celebrate his achievement – nice one Dave
Notwithstanding
some dodgy tee-boxes I thought the course played very well for the
time of year. The tight fairways didn’t seem to suit all of us and
as with all water, the pond by the 18th
proved to be a magnet for some (well that’s what some of the scores
seem to indicate)
Whilst
discussing Dave Boucher’s Longest drive of c. 400+ yds… and his
subsequent ‘shorter’ second shot! as well as other tales of the
day, we were called in for our ‘all day breakfast’ which
thankfully lived up to its reputation of being very nice indeed.
The

this outing are:

After
the prize giving, a question was raised as to when/how often we
should wear our new TOFs polo shirts. In true TOFs style, there were
differing opinions and suggestions so before a fight broke out a
decision was made (sort of)… The polo shirt must be worn for all
awaydays otherwise, do what works best for you
Last
but not least and to put on record, on behalf of the TOFs, a big
thank you to ‘Captain Frank’ for the sterling work he did last
year.
