After the traditional bacon roll and coffee, we had a Tipple on the Tee, courtesy of Terry Rapple, who was last month’s winner.
So all 16 of us teed off. Rob bagged the first prize of the day with NTP, having just got a bit closer
than Simon Jones.
All 3 winners of the Overall Stableford prize came in with over 40 points, in fact we had 6 players
with 40 points or more. In 3rd place, with 41 points (won on count-back against Rob Lindley) was Graham Harding. In 2nd place with 42 points was Derek Copson and this month’ winner with 44 points was Arthur Strain.
The least number of puts was a close battle between Chris Smyth and Terry Stacey, but Chris took
victory with 27 putts – very impressive.
The bottle of wine for ‘Most use of the Course’ was awarded to David Roberts with 25 points.
The meal afterwards was superb, with steak and ale pie, roast potatoes, veg, cauliflower cheese and
plenty of gravy. This had to be one of the best meals we’ve had on an Away Day.
Well done to all the winners.
Next month is at Wrag Barn on the 17th October
