What a Great Day in every way, but we missed our Captain, especially me as I had to do the work. It was also a great pleasure to have the company of John.
Kirtlington GC provided us with a superb welcome, venue, and a brilliant meal that was enjoyed by all. They were also very generous in donating new golf balls for additional prizes, thank you very much. We will be back.
We were all winners but, Rob took the nearest the pin prize, with Les a close second, Clifford the putting prize, with second best stapleford score, and I was lucky enough to win the trophy.
I will as suggested, have a score sheet for the next meet ( which could be Carswell) which means having calculated your score card, your score goes on the sheet so it will be easier to pick the winners, and have a copy of the scores for the postmortem and report.
The new prize format appears to have gone down OK ?
ie. Stapleford 1/3 kitty + equal share of other prizes,+ trophy if not a winner in current season. If a winner in current season the trophy only goes to the next best scorer.
Putting, 1/3 kitty + equal share of other prizes
Nearest the pin applicable on every hole, but of course usually par 3 s only will be likely, 1/3 of the kitty and equal shares of other prizes.
Any positive comments welcome, negative, not sure about !!
Seriously though, all your views are valuable.
Thanks for your support, and hope to see you all Tuesday, Terry.
